Update 1: I took in this VMC Pepsi 81 for a customer a month or so ago, He wanted to wait on the restoration for a month or so. I just recently pulled the machine out and started breaking it down, so I could get started on the restoration. This week I got the machine tore down and all parts sorted. Parts where sent off for Zinc Coating and also brought parts to the powder coater to get started on that. The body and other parts where sent over to the body shop and painter. Update 2: I took some time off on this machine as the customer was not in a big hurry, but started getting some of the parts back from paint, etc.. so here is an update on the machine, painted cabinet is back, going to get chrome and plating next week. Recieved some parts from Funtronics, new door liner, etc.. so assembly will begin shortly. See updated photos of machine. as of today, I got the Door back from the sign painter with the red Pepsi lettering , LOOKS AWESOME! Update 3: After a short Hiatus from the VMC 81 Pepsi, and a delay from the powder coater, Got the call that parts are done and going to pick up today. Chrome is done and is being shipped and plating is also done... so We'll get the cabinet back together this week yet and will work on finishing up the machine in the next few weeks.. Update 4: : Got back to the machine finally, and we are ready to finish it up... was working onr rewiring compressor, light assembly and such to get back into the door. INsulation and tub are back in cabinet, bottle stack is done and will be installed with shelves shortley... more pictures will be updated soon...
