VENDO 39 Coke Machine Restoration
This started out as a real nice Vendo 39, early model with the ribbed door and ICE COLD embossing. Customer would like it restored into the two toned theme as well. Great cooler to start with, runs ice cold and vends properly so should be a straight forward restoration.
11/01/09: Tear Down begun of the V39, Pretty straight forward, clean machine, insides are really clean, no rusted out bottom pan.. door was warped a bit so that will take some straightening.. Body is out to sandblaster and will get ready to prep and paint this next week. Compressor work has begun, and parts are sorted and catalogued and restoration on smaller parts have begun. Coin mech is being restored as well.. haven't started taking it apart yet.
11/16/09: Machine was sandblasted and some very basic body work, Machine is in primer awaiting paint job.. Guts have been started to be worked on as well, coin mech is being restored, compressor work has begun, inside parts are being plated , polished and chrome work has been sent off..
11/23/09: Picked up the shell from the painters today, so I can start on the cabinet reassembly. Bringing the Door to the sign painter tomorrow to get the letters hand painted. The photos are of it in primer, then painting the two colors. Turned out very nice! inside parts are coming back from powder this week, and assembly should begin soon.
12/05/09: Got the door back from the sign painter and of course looks great.. Started assembly of main cabinet as well , go new insulation and tub installed. waiting on some parts from the platers yet, so have been held up.. should have back soon.
12/21/09: All parts are in and final assembly is 90% complete, insides are done and just need some final trim on the main door/cabinet and to put on the polished coin entry bezel and decals... See photos of it 95% complete...
1/3/10: Finished up the Vendo 39 this past weekend.. Trim is on, and coin entry bezel. Decals for the sides are on the only thing I'm waiting on ... but will do before packaging it up.
1/11/10: Added some more pictures of the finsihed Vendo 39 Coke Machine, I added some Chrome divider strips to seperate the paint from white to red, added a nice look to the machine.. Will be packaged this week for shipping.
