| Popperette Popcorn Restoration |
1/18/10: I've been working on this Popperette Popcorn Machine restoration, but just got the page up today. So lets bring you up to speed.. Machine belongs to a customer on the East coast, he purchased the machine on Ebay and had it shipped to me for restoration. As shown in the photos below, machine arrived in 3 boxes. The globe in one, and top and bottom each in seperate boxes. Machine is a complete machine to start with and will be completely restored. Photos show the unpacking process and some of the parts as they started out. Machine was dissassembled and body parts are at the body shop as we speak getting stripped and new paint.
The insides are on the workbench and are in the process of being stripped off, cleaned, and will be polished and reasembled. All new wiring will be put on the machine prior to assembly and then reinstalled on new cabinet.
1/29/10: update , cabinet and stand are painted , inside core is dissasembles and in the process of being cleaned...
2/8/10: Ok the Cleaning has taken longer than expected.. This thing was filthy and have been using about 5 different degreasers and cleaners and think I've made progress.. Machine is cleaned and now reassembled the core, and will start on the re-rewire this week, once that is done, can be put back in cabinet and final trim work will be left and then done.
2/17/10: Assembly of the main core has been done, and the rewiring is 99% done. I assembled the core back inside the cabinet and am now working on installing the outside peices and trim.
2/22/10: Machine is assembled and tested, made 10 batches of fresh corn this weekend... will do some final tweaking on the machine, but overall it's 99% done..
2/26/10: Did some more testing, and machine is working great.. assembled final pices and new formica , installed back and doors and photographed with globe. Stand is done, too just have to take photos.. will be packing this weekend. and ready for shipment to client.
3/6/10: Was waiting on a new decal for the front of the machine, applied decal today and have some final shots of the machine on the stand. Item is being packaged for shipment.
