Coca-Cola Vendo 81D Coke Machine Restoration
Received Machine from customer and did initial inspection report and photos. Started tear down on machine, photos.
Machine cosmetically looked great on the outside, but inside showed the usual rust, water damage, and other gunk.
Body and parts are at the body shop, after sandblasting the insides where very rusty and lots of pin holes showed up in belt line area, as usual. bad areas where cut out and new metal welded in and redone.. new lower pan installed as original was like swiss cheese.. The original Door had severe rust behind the emblem foam holder as well. after some mild cleaning and blasting, holes where all the way through and new door was required as original was unrepairable. Body is in primer and should be in paint next week when it warms up around here.. body shops are just not painting when it's below freezing..
Body is being painted this week, all inner parts are off and either at Platers, powder coaters or Chrome platers.. We should start to see all parts coming back in , in a week or two so assembly can begin.
Body back from paint, main door is at Sign painter this week for hand painting of lettering.
Door is back from paint, zinc plated parts are back from plating and parts are coming in from powdercoating...
Stainless Steel Trim has been polished and reinstalled on main cabinet and now rest will go on main door and reassembly will begin on machine.
Compressor was tested, stripped down, sandblasted , repainted and new wiring , motors installed and tested.. ready for reinstall after cabinet is done.
Main door and Cabinet has been put back together with all new insulation, wiring for door light, new breaker strips, all new Stainless Steel Screws and compressor reinstalled into machine. Main door hung and ready for next step of coin door, mech, and chrome then some the internal bottle stack and shelves will be going in soon when bottle stack is put back together.
Coin Mech and Bottle Stack have been replated and reassembled and installed back into machine. Bottle Door has been rebuilte with all new glass and Plexiglass and cleaned and repainted medallion and installed on machine with all new Bottle Door Gasket.
restored cooling unit, tested and reinstalled into main cabinet, Main door hung and all electrical hooked up.
Coin mech installed on front door as well as coin door and all hardware.
Chrome coin entry bezel finally back and installed on coin door and final decals and adjustments made.
Machine is completed and awaiting shipping to new home!
