Bennett 966 Gas Pump and MS80 Gas Pump Restoration Log

These are being restored for a custemer, Both Pumps started out as real nice straight originals... The Following will log the restoration of both pumps.

11/01/2009:  Started the Tear Down of the Bennett pump first, Started as as real nice straight pump.. today I stripped all the parts off it, and the body panels and frame are at the Sandblaster getting cleaned up, prepped and getting ready for body work and paint. All smaller parts are catalogued and will be sandblasted , painted, polished and redone to be ready to reinstall back on frame when it comes back from paint.

11/23/09:  Sorry haven't been updating much on these pumps, but here is where we are at today. both pumps have been tore down and are at the painters, all small parts are still being individually sandblasted, cleaned and painted.. about 30% done with these, going to get far on them tonight. The panels for the 966 are back from paint and are pictured below. The frame is done as well, and will have some assembly pictures coming soon of that.  the MS 80 is at the paint shop, so is the frame,, so have to get that this week as well and should have all external parts painted and done by this weekend..  will add some more photos of the frame and parts as it comes together.

11/24/09:  I just updated some more photos of the tear down of the MS80 pump... I should have all the panels back this weekend and can start on reassembly.

11/30/09:  The Bennett 966 Two Tone Texaco Pump is 99% complete, just needs the globe and decals and door locks.. see photos... The MS 80 pump just got back from paint today, and the frame is being picked up today.. once the frame is ready, the assembly will begin on that pump and should be completed this week. I've posted pictures of the panels as this will be an all red Texaco Firechief pump...

12/5/09:  Put together the MS 80 pump this weekend.. turned out great, it's an all red pump which will have the Texacao Firecheif theme to it... it's going to look awesome when the globe and logos get put on...still have some door trim to add as well and polish up the nozzels for both pumps and put hoses on... but for the most part, they are 99% done...

12/21/09: Ok, been a while since posted photos but the two pumps are done, just got to polish up the nozzels and put on the hoses... was waiting on the stickers and globes and as seen in pictures they are in... Both pumps turned out great!
